Robert Kritsberg is a veterinary member of the Investigative Committee and a former Board member. He's been involved in the veterinary board either as a Board member or an investigative Committee member for at least 20 years. According to a biography in the September 2002 issue of The Scratching Post, the vet board's own newsletter, he had been praticing veterinary medicine for 29 years, 24 years at Apollo Animal Hospital. He was said to have served in the Marines and graduated from Colorado State University. Kritsberg's LinkedIn lists him as having retired from National Veterinary Associates, a privately-owned consolidator of veterinary hospitals.
The Arizona legislature's online nominee search lists him as a Napolitano appointee serving on the Board from 2003 to 2008. The September 2002 issue of The Scratching Post lists him as Board Chair serving alongside fellow future investigator Steven Dow, a man who later replaced his own son, Cameron Dow, on the Investigative Committee. The September 2004 issue, during Richard Crisler's tenure as Chair, thanks Kritsberg for his "unprecented three year term" as Chair. Kritsberg then went on to serve on both Investigative Committees, being mentioned on the PM Committee in the February 2012 and Fall 2016 issues before showing up on the AM Committee in the Fall 2018 issue. As of the recent Fall 2022 newsletter he's still there.
Kritsberg also appears to have been instrumental in getting public member and hospital executive Steve Seiler appointed to the Investigative Committee. During Seiler's brief hearing before the Board, he mentioned that Kritsberg told him of the opening and suggested he apply. The Board appointed him to represent the public on the same Investigative Committee chaired by Kritsberg.
